In the countries of the former Yugoslavia, there is a rather good production of contemporary art, with a remarkable number of good artists. What is missing is information outside personal Facebook pages, Twitter and similar electronic blogs, and we should incorporate them in a unified system … Encounters of artists and critics are very important, and Danube Dialogues makes them possible through carefully selected thematic exhibitions, always inviting both curators and artists and creating that necessary sparkle and numerous contacts which should result in a fruitful exchange of exhibitions, artists and curators. Also very important are its mini-symposia, which have thus far fully justified their almost unconventional form and content. These symposia, lasting several hours, are really concise and short enough to engross the listener’s full attention, and open topics for discussion that can lead to numerous informal gatherings after the opening of exhibitions.
